Profile of a White Lion

A close-up side portrait of Casper, a rare white lion (panthero leo), spotted in the Satara area of the Kruger National Park, South Africa. His cream (rather than sandy) colour and pale blue green eyes are caused by a recessive trait - called leucism - derived from a less severe mutation in the same gene that causes albinism.
